ALWAYS INNOVATING
Vichy Laboratoires is a skincare brand that has done clinical skin research on thousands of women and is continuously developing solutions for all skin types. Their AI-powered website is novel in that it can customize skincare routines and products for customers while also enhancing the user experience. We were commissioned to help with the design of SkinConsult AI, a skin aging algorithm developed by dermatologists that scans your face and provides a questionnaire in order to help the user understand the strengths and weaknesses of their skin.
I was the main designer on this project (overseen by my digital director) and was tasked with integrating the new Exposomes section into the questionnaire and redesigning sections of the SkinConsult AI experience.

U1 DESIGN
The first ask from Vichy was to create a clear and seamless way to integrate the Exposomes section– which explored skin-damaging conditions such as pollution, sun exposure, stress or smoking– to the already existing skin aging SkinConsult questionnaire. To achieve this, I created a multi-option landing page, defaulting to the new questionnaire that included both the original SkinConsult and Exposomes quizzes. The user had the option to take the new quiz as seen above, or proceed with just SkinConsult. If they chose the latter, the user would again be asked at the end of the results page if they wanted to complete the Exposomes quiz as seen here. This information is important to the client as the data helps the algorithm do a better job when suggesting products.

In our redesign of the results section, we needed to focus on creating a way to clearly see how a person’s results compared to the average customer. I designed comparative progression bars that appeared along with information explaining the priorities of your skin health. With a visual guide, each customer could easily see what products they would need to purchase to improve their skincare routines.
Another aspect of the redesign was organizing the questionnaire in such a way that would keep the users attention while also providing the information and results they needed. I transformed the questionnaire to function like a text chain with a health expert that a user would seemingly have a conversation with. By making it interactive, I was able to keep the already extensive quiz interesting and familiar, allowing for more time to be spent on questions that the client was worried about.
